Altitude brewing

Right on the banks of the Kawarau River in Frankton, this low-key taproom delivers lake views and house-brewed beer. The vibe is relaxed and open, with a big outdoor area and a mix of locals and visitors.

Altitude Brewing’s line-up is brewed on site and favours local ingredients, with the aim of keeping its environmental footprint small. The Core range covers a crisp Kölsch, a hazy pale and a porter suited to cooler months, while experimental releases rotate regularly.

Food comes via a changing roster of food trucks parked outside. We’d check Instagram before heading over, then go for a tasting flight to start—bar staff can guide you through.
