Rifters Tasting Room

This small-batch gin distillery operates in Arrowtown’s historic precinct, offering a pared-back space to sample alpine-inspired spirits. The room follows a clean, natural aesthetic, with wood and stone textures keeping the focus on the drinks.

Rifters produces its gins in Queenstown using locally sourced botanicals. The tasting menu includes its original Dry, Quartz and Aromatic expressions, available in flights or neat pours. Staff talk through each pour’s botanicals and process without overcomplicating.

There’s no food, but each drink comes paired with a seasonal garnish and tonic to highlight the flavour profile. The courtyard suits warm afternoons, with hillside views and plenty of sun. Bookings are wise on weekends.
