BKK
On the second floor of the multi-level Her building in Melbourne’s CBD, this Thai grill draws inspiration from Bangkok’s late-night barbecue stalls. The space is built from stainless steel and concrete, with low lighting and flashes of neon reflecting the city’s street-side energy.
The menu is built around charcoal cooking and heat-forward dishes. Much of it comes off the open grill: grilled pork neck with tamarind, fermented pork sausage, and a fiery som tum. Servings are designed to share, and staff can guide you through the stronger flavours.
Drinks are concise and well-matched, mixing short, sharp cocktails with Thai notes of lemongrass, makrut lime and chilli. A short wine list rounds things out. We’d aim for a later booking—weekend evenings fill fast, and the place gets loud.
