Down a dim city laneway, this CBD bar walks the line between laid-back and late-night polish. Inside, dark timber and raw brick give shape to a room that’s both deliberate and unshowy, complete with sculptural stools and an arched bottle-lined bar.

Cocktails skew inventive, bolstered by a short wine list and a few solid local beers. Snacks are tight but thoughtful—grilled skewers come brushed with smoky chilli oil, while oysters might arrive dressed with finger lime. Seasonal ingredients drive the menu, which shifts often.

The tempo shifts too. DJs roll in later in the week, and the early-evening office crowd gives way to a looser mix by midnight. We like the bar seats for watching it all unfold.
