Santa Casa turned a 1930s duchess mansion in Roma Norte into an intimate base with real neighbourhood pull. Operated as part of the Tasman Collection, it preserves tiled floors and arched windows, adds a planted central courtyard, and tops it with a rooftop terrace with a rooftop jacuzzi — more house-party than hotel.

Instead of laying on big-hotel frills, it plugs you straight into Roma: mezcal tastings, a guided Lucha Libre outing, and a tortilla-and-taco wander are all teed up, with bigger forays to Teotihuacán or Xochimilco if you want them. Between times, the greenery-framed courtyard and terracotta underfoot make a quiet, residential hideaway.

Rooms feel compact and calm, the better for stepping out to cafés and galleries nearby, then climbing back to the sunny roof for city views. At dusk, you sink into the jacuzzi as the courtyard lights up below and the old arched windows throw soft reflections across the potted palms.
