Ooh-Fa is a standout pizza and wine bar in Auckland, born from the creative minds behind the popular pasta joint Pici. Situated at 357 Dominion Road in Mount Eden, this establishment has quickly become a sought-after spot for its unique take on pizza, complemented by a carefully curated selection of natural wines. The 22-seater venue boasts a warm and welcoming atmosphere, aiming to provide an intimate dining experience that emphasises the joy of sharing a meal and a glass of wine in a cozy setting.
The restaurant prides itself on its sourdough pizzas, which undergo a meticulous 70+ hour fermentation process before being cooked in a wood-fired oven. This results in a base that's both crispy and fluffy, providing the perfect foundation for their simple yet inventive toppings. Some of the standout pizzas include options like the nduja with ricotta (our fave), mozzarella, and garlic honey, and a seasonal cavolo nero with Italian sausage, mozzarella, and oregano.
Ooh-Fa's commitment to quality extends beyond their pizzas. The menu also features small plates such as wood-fired carrots with whipped ricotta and pistachios, and a variety of pickled vegetables. Their drinks menu is equally impressive, offering a selection of mostly natural wines alongside cocktails, beer, and non-alcoholic options.
